Posted January 4, 2020. Hi, just acquired an x type 2.2 diesel, and it's sluggish on initial pull-away. When I got it, the EML light was on, and was told it was because the EGR valve had been removed. Posted December 5, 2016. When driving my 2006 X-Type 2.2d it started to drop into limp mode when accelerating at low rpm. This could be reset by turning the engine off waiting briefly and then restarting. This problem became more and more frequent. After removing and cleaning the EGR and inlet manifold (filthy Job),which were not at all clogged

Remove the engine cover. then remove the oil filter housing wich is the black plastic cylinder with the 32mm nut on top. You should then see the glow plugs to the left and right of where the oil filter was situated. There is a plastic strip that clips onto the 3 glow pugs on either side of the engine.
